Not Giving Up!

When I started this project I honestly expected it to be in use by now. I Originally intended to produce a simulator I wanted to play, and have a project to use for learning. It seems I’ve had more than enough coding projects thrown at me in the last two years and I’ve got all I can do to keep up. But I’m not giving up!

I’ve had a project simmering in the background for quite a while, waiting on the client to decide it was time to take it seriously. Well this year, he’s done exactly that. I’ve been working seven days a week, 50 to 70 hours a week since January 1st. I don’t want to sound like I’m complaining. I’m not. But I am busy, and as far as I can tell it will be at least July before that slows down.

I have to be realistic. When It comes to the 18 Wheel Empire, if I want to produce anything near what I have in mind I’m simply not going to be able to roll out beta by the end of the year. Though I still remain hopeful that by year end I’ll have some good ground work laid.

Since this project isn’t likely going to pay my bills any time soon, it is one that must wait until I have available time. As such, I’m pushing my goal for beta release out to winter of 2018. Sadly I won’t be surprised if I have to push back further.

As of this moment I’m planning to code hard to release the current project I’m on, and then actually reclaim some of my personal time as summer unfolds. It seems my wife and four children have all but forgotten what I look like! I figure I better spend some time with them before they grow up and move out on me.

I’m hoping by fall when the snow starts flying around here, I’ll be ready to stuff large quantities of time into this project. Thankfully I don’t think anyone has been on the edge of their seat for this to roll out. Well, anyone but me that is. I want to play this thing!
